12th - 14th July 2017,   Nottingham

General Information

Innovations in Wave Modelling 2017 (InnoWave 2017) will be held at the Nottingham Conference Centre at Nottingham Trent University. Mathematicians, scientists and engineers who are interested in both theory and applications of state of the art modelling tools for complex wave dynamics are encouraged to participate.

Wave propagation phenomena arise in a wide range of problems in science and engineering including acoustics, elasticity, electromagnetics and quantum mechanics to name a few. The specifics of the challenges faced vary from discipline to discipline, but there is one common big challenge. Modelling waves in complex structures or enclosures requires efficient numerical methods, and this is particularly difficult when the wavelength is orders of magnitude smaller than the typical dimensions of the system. In the same spirit as the first InnoWave conference held at the University of Nottingham in 2012, this conference aims to bring together experts from different fields, and from academia and industry, to compare modern solution strategies and to discuss interesting wave phenomena. The emphasis is placed on the applicability and scalability of the techniques in real world and industrial settings. The conference is sponsored by the EU through the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways FP7 grant Mid-to-High Frequency Modelling of Vehicle Noise and Vibration (MHiVec).
